Roadshow to Hong Kong (Belt & Road Summit)

For the second year in a row, Greater Paris Investment Agency has been invited to participate into the Belt & Road Summit in Hong Kong. The ideal place to promote Greater Paris’ assets as well as French metropolises on a global scale.

This year, Greater Paris Investment Agency led its delegation to the Belt & Road Summit in association with Marseille Euroméditerranée and Bordeaux Euratlantique public development agencies, as well Lionel Lepouder, Chairman of Invest in Bordeaux.

Investors got introduced to various development projects open to international investment in major French cities. “France plays as a team” to promote metropolitan areas’ assets and investment opportunities worldwide, stresses Mr Alexandre MISSOFFE, Managing director at Greater Paris Investment Agency.

Delegation members attended conferences and meetings to present some of the greatest projects ongoing in Greater Paris, Bordeaux and Marseille. And above all, share the news that France brings about innovation, in tech and through usage, and experiments to find new solutions for the sustainable development of cities.

In the same spirit of broad cooperaiton, Greater Paris Investment Agency’s delegation held a public conference along with Thomas HUI, co-Founder of The Desk, to tell and share experiences between France and Hong Kong about the latest trends in coworking and flex-office.

Showcasing industrial demonstrators

Sharing best innovative practices was at the heart of the meeting with Sophie LECONTE, executive director at the French Chamber in Hong Kong and will lay the foundation for a long-term cooperation to promote solutions arising from French industrial demonstrators for sustainable city towards our partners in Hong Kong.

B2B meetings meant at disclosing investment opportunities in France included Stanley Chin (CEO Treasure Capital), Iris Wong (HKTDC), James Wong (Chairman Hon Kwok Land Chinney Alliance Group), Lambert Lu (SEA Group, Executive Director), Bernard Leung (Managing Director Krueger Engineering Asia Ltd), Wailee Chow (Managing Director Wda Group) and Frédéric Mortier (Senior VP Macquarie retail real estate).

A guided tour with MTR senior staff introduced the delegation to the business model and innovations developped by the transport operator in Hong Kong, and how they could inspire ongoing programmes in Greater Paris.

This mission would not have been a success withtout the support of Alexandre Giorgini, consul general of France to Hong Kong and Macao, Business France teams and the good coordination with other French delegations attending the Summit (including Provence promotion).

Return visits in Paris are already scheduled with some contacts, to allow for efficient follow-up.
