Roadshow in Hong Kong & Shenzhen

Roadshow in Hong Kong & Shenzhen

From June 24 to 29, 2018, Greater Paris Investment Agency led a delegation to Hong Kong and Shenzhen (China) in the framework of the Belt & Road Initiative, to meet financial and industrial partners, present development opportunities in Greater Paris and participate to the Belt & Road Summit.

The delegation led by Greater Paris Investment Agency had the honour of meeting M. Eric Berti, Consul General of France in Hong Kong & Macau, during a reception given at the Consulate general with a few businessmen from Hong Kong.

Delegation members intervened in their own domaine of expertise during a seminar introducing investment opportunities related to the Greater Paris project, jointly organised by Greater Paris Investment Agency and China Real Estate Chamber of Commerce Hong Kong & International (CRECCHKI).

Topics of sustainable finance, impact investing and real estate trends in Greater Paris among others aroused significant interest on behalf of Chinese investors who attended the event.

Cluster of innovations

The delegation visited the Hong Kong Science and Technology Park (HKSTP) accompanied by its Executive manager, Albert Wong Hak-Keung, and was later introduced to Lok Ma Chau Loop, an incubator for tech startups.

Like Paris-Saclay, Greater Paris scientific cluster, HKSTP is a government-funded institute which aims at strengthening Hong Kong’s position as a regional hub dedicated to innovation and technological development, in particular thanks to the use of open data.

More than 618 companies are accomodated in HKSTP, as well as 12,000 people, including 9,000 people involved in R&D related activities.

Belt & Road Summit

Greater Paris Investment Agency’s delegation took part to the Belt & Road Summit (Transport & Logistics Session), organised by our partner Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC). The delegation reminded the significance, the coherence and the various opportunities to identify the Grand Paris project on the Belt & Road Initiative routes and consolidate Greater Paris positioning as a crossroads for global exchanges.

Introducing the Summit, Carrie LAM, Chief Executive of Hong Kong, acknowledged the actions undertaken by Greater Paris Investment Agency, whose Director general she met during her tour in Grand Paris a week earlier.

The Belt & Road Summit gathered senior officials, representatives of international organisations, business leaders and industry experts from countries in Asia and Europe located along the Belt and Road Initiative routes, to exchange viewpoints on multilateral cooperation and explore new business opportunities.
